Doon Valley Golf Club is an 18 hole golf course located in Kitchener, Ontario. The course borders the Grand River, within the city limits, just minutes from the 401.
The course was designed by C.E. (Robbie) Robinson. The course first opened for play over a half century ago, in 1955.
The course is relatively flat. The fairways are tight, tree-lined, and have several strategically placed bunkers that can get in your way. The greens are flat and medium-sized and also well protected by bunkers. The Grand River comes into play on six holes and there are also nine ponds in the design.
The signature hole is #9, a 243-yard, par 4, that requires you to avoid a pond in front of the green.
This par-72 course has 4 sets of tees ranging from 5,113 to 6,543 yards.

Located just off Hwy 401 is easy off/on and the course looked empty so I stopped in. You start off on a hill and head down to the river where its mostly flat with straight away hole layouts. The greens are raised for forced carries with a few hard pan sand traps, that putted fast for September conditions. I walked the 6,203 yds / 72 @ 115 slope shooting 86/40putts with flat stick problems landings in the worst spots on the smaller size greens. Paid $29 US$ and had an uninterrupted 3hr 15min walk by myself on nicely cut fairways and slight 2" rough on a sunny Thursday afternoon. Worth stopping on this average public golf course if traveling on 401 through the area and course not looking busy.
